Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during public health crises
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness plans for Houston region
- Deploy public health resources during outbreaks, disasters, and bioterrorism events
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for vulnerable populations
- Leverage GIS technology for real-time situational awareness during emergencies
- Train public health staff and community partners on emergency protocols
- Prepare detailed after-action reports and improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, EMTrack)
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks and FEMA guidelines
- Experience coordinating multi-agency disaster response teams
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergency activations
