Responsibilities
- Lead rapid response coordination for public health emergencies including outbreaks, natural disasters, and bioterrorism incidents
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies
- Analyze epidemiological data to assess risks and inform public health interventions
- Coordinate resource allocation and logistics during emergency response activations
- Conduct community outreach and public communications to ensure accurate information dissemination
- Train healthcare providers and first responders on emergency protocols and procedures
- Prepare grant proposals and manage emergency response budgets
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) and NIMS compliance
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in epidemiological software (e.g., Epi-Info, SAS)
- Proven ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Valid California driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
