We seek an experienced Public Health Emergency Response Specialist to lead preparedness initiatives and coordinate crisis response across the metro area. As a key member of our Emergency Preparedness Division, you'll develop actionable response plans, collaborate with local agencies, and implement evidence-based interventions to protect public health during natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and other critical incidents. This is a mission-critical role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate inter-agency communications with FEMA, CDC, and local emergency management teams
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for high-impact scenarios
- Train public health staff and community partners in emergency response procedures
- Manage distribution of emergency medical supplies and personal protective equipment
- Lead post-incident debriefs and update response protocols based on lessons learned
- Prepare federal grant applications and compliance reports for emergency preparedness funding
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Current certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and emergency management software platforms
- Demonstrated experience writing emergency response plans and SOPs
- Ability to work extended hours during public health emergencies
- Valid Minnesota driver's license and reliable transportation
- U.S. citizenship required for federal compliance
