Responsibilities
- Develop and execute emergency response plans for public health crises including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism events
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and resource allocation needs
- Design and deliver public health education campaigns for diverse Houston communities
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Conduct risk assessments for critical infrastructure and vulnerable populations
- Prepare detailed incident reports and policy recommendations for city leadership
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and health data visualization tools
- Demonstrated ability to work under extreme pressure with competing priorities
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to deploy to emergency sites 24/7
