The City of Fresno is urgently seeking a dedicated Public Health Inspector to join our Environmental Health Division. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food facilities, swimming pools, and public health nuisances
- Investigate citizen complaints related to environmental health hazards
- Enforce state and local health regulations through compliance actions
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Educate businesses and residents on health code requirements
- Collaborate with other agencies during public health emergencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Valid California Environmental Health Specialist Registration
- Minimum 2 years of field inspection experience
- Certified Food Protection Manager credential
- Strong knowledge of California Health & Safety Code
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
