Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological investigations for reportable diseases and outbreaks
- Collect, analyze, and interpret public health data using surveillance systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, laboratories, and community stakeholders
- Develop and implement outbreak control measures and containment strategies
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and communicate findings to leadership
- Provide public health education and guidance to community members
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in disease investigation or public health
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Epi Info, SAS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during outbreaks
