Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and recommend interventions
- Collaborate with community organizations and government agencies to coordinate health initiatives
- Lead emergency preparedness responses including pandemic planning and natural disaster protocols
- Manage grant applications and oversee program budgets exceeding $500K annually
- Train staff and community members on public health best practices and compliance standards
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Board of Health and senior leadership
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with community program leadership
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification within 6 months
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS) and GIS mapping software
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing federal/state grants
- Experience with emergency preparedness frameworks (e.g., NIMS, ICS)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build coalitions across diverse stakeholders
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
