Responsibilities
- Design and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting Detroit's vulnerable populations
- Manage $2M+ budgets and coordinate cross-agency partnerships with local health departments
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health disparities and recommend interventions
- Lead community outreach initiatives and stakeholder engagement across 5+ Detroit neighborhoods
- Develop grant proposals to secure federal/state funding for health equity programs
- Oversee program evaluation and prepare compliance reports for state/federal agencies
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with academic institutions on research initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of program management experience in government/public health sector
- Expertise in health equity frameworks and culturally competent program design
- Advanced data analysis skills with proficiency in SPSS/R/STATA
- Michigan driver's license and ability to travel statewide (25% travel)
- Proven success managing federal grant-funded programs (CDC/HRSA experience preferred)
- Strong written communication skills for policy briefs and grant applications
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent certification
