As a key member of our Miami leadership team, you'll oversee program development, manage multi-million dollar budgets, and collaborate with healthcare providers, local governments, and community organizations. Your expertise will directly influence health outcomes for over 2.7 million Miami-Dade residents.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health disparities
- Manage federal grant funding ($2M+ portfolio) and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams including epidemiologists, data analysts, and community outreach specialists
- Develop strategic partnerships with healthcare systems, academic institutions, and non-profits
- Prepare comprehensive reports for state legislators and federal health agencies
- Oversee emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate professional development initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years experience in public health program management
- Florida Public Health Administrator certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in data analysis using SPSS/R and health informatics systems
- Demonstrated success in securing federal/state grants
- Knowledge of Florida public health statutes and CDC guidelines
- Strong bilingual skills in English/Spanish (highly preferred)
- Experience managing diverse teams and community coalitions
