Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting underserved communities
- Manage multi-million dollar budgets and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Lead cross-departmental collaborations with healthcare providers, NGOs, and community leaders
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health disparities and inform strategic interventions
- Oversee program evaluation metrics and prepare comprehensive reports for city leadership
- Supervise program staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Represent the department in public forums and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health program management experience
- Proven expertise in health equity initiatives and community-based participatory research
- Advanced data analysis skills with proficiency in SPSS/R/Python
- Strong knowledge of CDC guidelines and California public health codes
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience securing federal/state grants (HRSA, CDC, etc.)
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred
