The Louisiana Department of Health seeks a dynamic Public Health Program Manager to lead community health initiatives, develop evidence-based interventions, and coordinate with local stakeholders to address pressing public health challenges.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact programs focused on disease prevention, health equity, and emergency preparedness. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate public health strategies that directly improve community outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee public health programs targeting vulnerable populations in Orleans Parish
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and prioritize intervention areas
- Coordinate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local government agencies
- Manage program budgets, ensure compliance with state regulations, and prepare grant proposals
- Evaluate program effectiveness using KPIs and adjust strategies based on outcomes
- Lead emergency preparedness initiatives and public health crisis response
- Train staff and community partners on public health best practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program management
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R)
- Experience developing and managing grant-funded projects
- Knowledge of Louisiana public health regulations and policies
- Excellent communication skills for community engagement and stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work in emergency response situations during public health crises
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
