Responsibilities
- Design and execute public health campaigns addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and intervention opportunities
- Collaborate with community organizations and healthcare providers to expand outreach programs
- Develop educational materials and conduct health literacy workshops for diverse populations
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state health regulations
- Lead crisis response coordination during public health emergencies
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and public health stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, SAS) and GIS mapping
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or equivalent credential
- Experience with grant writing and federal program compliance (CDC, HRSA)
- Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish preferred)
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel across service areas
- Knowledge of HIPAA, ACA, and local public health ordinances
