Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health education
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and data analysis to identify emerging health threats
- Coordinate with community organizations and healthcare providers to deliver outreach initiatives
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Prepare comprehensive public health reports for regulatory agencies and city leadership
- Lead crisis response efforts during public health emergencies
- Mentor junior staff and supervise program implementation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health program implementation
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS mapping tools
- Strong grant writing and budget management experience
- Excellent communication skills with diverse community stakeholders
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for community events
