Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses for public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and recommend intervention strategies
- Collaborate with community partners to design culturally competent health education campaigns
- Conduct compliance inspections and investigations for health code violations
- Prepare grant proposals and manage budgets for public health initiatives
- Provide expert testimony at public health hearings and community forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation or health policy
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Proficient in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS) and GIS mapping software
- Experience with emergency preparedness protocols and incident command systems
- Valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel county-wide
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred
