Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting underserved communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and inform policy decisions
- Coordinate cross-departmental responses to public health emergencies and outbreaks
- Lead community engagement initiatives to promote health literacy and preventive care
- Manage grant applications and oversee program budgets for health initiatives
- Train healthcare providers and community health workers on best practices
- Prepare comprehensive reports for public health councils and legislative bodies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Expertise in data analysis using tools like SAS, R, or SPSS
- Proven ability to manage multi-faceted health programs under tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of DC-specific health disparities and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
- Experience with emergency preparedness and response protocols
