Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health education
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and data analysis to identify emerging health trends
- Coordinate community outreach initiatives and stakeholder partnerships
- Prepare and present public health reports to county leadership and community boards
- Manage grant-funded health projects and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Lead emergency response planning for public health crises
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on health policies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of public health program implementation experience
- Valid Florida Public Health Professional certification
- Advanced proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Strong knowledge of CDC/DOH guidelines and reporting requirements
- Experience managing health department grants and budgets
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively across government agencies and community organizations
