Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Conduct epidemiological investigations and surveillance for communicable diseases
- Lead community health education initiatives and outreach events
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations on health promotion strategies
- Prepare and maintain accurate public health data reports and compliance documentation
- Respond to public health emergencies and coordinate response protocols
- Advise policymakers on public health best practices and emerging health trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of public health or healthcare experience with community outreach
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in public health reporting tools
- Excellent communication abilities for diverse community engagement
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for community events
- Experience with grant writing and program evaluation highly desirable
