Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based health education campaigns for Long Beach communities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations on prevention strategies
- Manage grant-funded public health initiatives and reporting requirements
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses for health crises
- Analyze health data to identify trends and inform policy recommendations
- Provide public health consultations to county departments and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of public health program implementation experience
- Valid California Public Health Microbiologist certification preferred
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with community outreach and engagement
- Knowledge of HIPAA and public health reporting regulations
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for community events
