Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and data analysis to identify health trends and outbreaks
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises and natural disasters
- Design and deliver community health education workshops and outreach campaigns
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations on health initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy recommendations for senior leadership
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Bachelor's with 3+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public health program implementation
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated success in community engagement and health communication
- Valid Virginia driver's license and ability to travel throughout the city
- Experience with grant writing and federal funding processes
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
