We are urgently seeking a Public Health Specialist to join Fresno County's frontline response team. Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations for communicable diseases
- Develop and implement evidence-based health education programs targeting underserved communities
- Analyze public health data to identify trends and inform policy recommendations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses including vaccination campaigns and crisis communication
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations on health initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports on public health outcomes and program effectiveness
- Stay current with federal/state public health regulations and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 3 years of public health experience in government or NGO setting
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent credential
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required
- Experience with grant writing and program budget management
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends during emergencies
