Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based health education campaigns targeting vulnerable populations
- Coordinate emergency response efforts for public health crises including infectious disease outbreaks
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and inform strategic interventions
- Collaborate with community partners and government agencies to address social determinants of health
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Conduct community needs assessments and program evaluations
- Represent the health district in intergovernmental meetings and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential preferred
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during emergencies
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
