Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans for city initiatives
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson
- Create compelling content for digital and traditional platforms
- Coordinate crisis communications protocols
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging strategies
- Supervise communications staff and interns
- Collaborate with department heads on public engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive communications experience
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Proficiency with CMS, social media analytics, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Clearances: Background check and fingerprinting required
