Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for major infrastructure projects
- Manage media relations, press conferences, and crisis communications
- Produce compelling content (reports, social media, press releases) for diverse audiences
- Serve as primary liaison between PennDOT and government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders
- Monitor public sentiment and adapt messaging to address community concerns
- Coordinate cross-departmental communication during emergency situations
- Lead public engagement initiatives and community outreach programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in government/public sector communications
- Proven crisis communication and media relations expertise
- Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking abilities
- Experience with digital communication platforms and content management systems
- Strong understanding of Pennsylvania's diverse communities and transportation challenges
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required
