Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Provide life-saving medical instructions via Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols
- Maintain accurate call documentation and incident reports
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Participate in continuous training for new technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum one-year customer service or call center experience
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph examination, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch within 6 months of hire
