Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and dispatch police, fire, and medical emergency services
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents and communications
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Remain calm under pressure while managing multiple simultaneous incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical teams
- Follow strict protocols for crisis intervention and de-escalation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year dispatch or customer service experience
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish skills highly valued
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
