Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter and update incident data in CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance
- Adhere to strict NIMS and emergency protocols
- Train new dispatchers on department procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- TXDPS Basic Telecommunicator Certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year call center/emergency dispatch experience
- Type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency required
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
