Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical resources with precise location and situation details
- Provide CPR/first-aid instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and CAD software for real-time coordination
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per state protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and hospital agencies during major incidents
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress, time-sensitive scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Current POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year call center or emergency services experience
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual certification strongly preferred)
