Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate emergency units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation in compliance with protocols
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale incidents
- Monitor surveillance systems and alert field units to public safety concerns
- Participate in continuous training for new technologies and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or call center experience
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure emergency situations
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- Pass thorough background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
