Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units, fire departments, and medical services during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols with field personnel
- Enter and update real-time information in law enforcement databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major emergencies
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support to callers
- Operate specialized emergency communication equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- U.S. citizenship and valid New York State driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency with computer systems and multitasking under pressure
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
