Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain precise radio communication protocols during high-stress situations
- Provide life-saving pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
- Document all interactions with meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborate with multi-agency responders during major incidents
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- Texas TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 50 WPM typing proficiency
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Experience with CAD/RMS systems (e.g., Motorola, Hexagon)
- Strong situational judgment and de-escalation skills
