Responsibilities
- Enforce municipal ordinances and state laws with integrity and cultural sensitivity
- Respond to emergency calls and conduct proactive community patrols
- Collaborate with federal agencies on border security initiatives
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain digital evidence systems
- Conduct public safety education programs in bilingual settings
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts peacefully
- Participate in specialized tactical training and disaster response drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years public safety experience
- Valid Texas Peace Officer license or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (written and verbal)
- Successfully pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and public safety software systems
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean record
