Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned districts to ensure public safety, order, and security within government facilities and public spaces.
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond immediately to alarms, suspicious activities, or emergency incidents.
- Enforce city ordinances and state regulations while maintaining a professional, customer-service-oriented demeanor.
- Prepare detailed daily incident reports and logs for legal and administrative review.
- Assist with traffic control and crowd management during large public events and city functions.
- Communicate effectively with the public, dispatchers, and other law enforcement personnel to coordinate responses.
- Conduct routine security checks on government property and equipment to prevent unauthorized access.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is a significant plus.
- Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical agility test.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory.
