Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray machines and detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections as required by security protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or threats
- Operate metal detectors, explosive detection systems, and other security technologies
- Enforce TSA regulations and provide clear instructions to travelers
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required for federal employment)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating security vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn technical equipment
- Customer service experience preferred
