Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response protocols during natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Collaborate with federal/state agencies for disaster mitigation and recovery operations
- Conduct community risk assessments and emergency preparedness training
- Manage crisis communication with public officials and media outlets
- Maintain critical infrastructure security during declared emergencies
- Develop emergency action plans for high-risk city facilities
- Lead field operations during disaster response deployments
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in emergency management or public safety
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work 24/7 rotational shifts during emergencies
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Strong crisis communication and decision-making skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
