Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for municipal facilities
- Coordinate with law enforcement and fire departments during critical incidents
- Analyze crime/safety data to identify emerging threats and prevention opportunities
- Conduct safety audits for public spaces and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Train city staff and community groups on emergency preparedness procedures
- Manage public safety technology systems including surveillance and communication networks
- Prepare detailed incident reports and safety improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public safety, emergency management, or law enforcement
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Ability to obtain NC Public Safety Certification within 6 months
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and safety analytics software
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency calls 24/7
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
