Responsibilities
- Manage emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers in critical situations
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
- Participate in continuous training for emergency protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Experience in customer service or high-pressure environments
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multi-tasking and de-escalation skills
- NIMS/ICS certification or willingness to obtain
