Responsibilities
- Process Public Inquiries: Handle a high volume of phone calls and emails from citizens regarding city services and benefits.
- Document Verification: Review and verify applicant documentation for accuracy and compliance with city regulations.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all transactions and interactions using government databases.
- Customer Assistance: Guide residents through application processes for housing, social services, and permits.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot basic service issues and escalate complex concerns to the appropriate supervisors.
- Compliance Reporting: Ensure all work adheres to federal and local privacy laws and departmental policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, data entry, or a government-related environment.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot errors in data and documentation.
- Availability: Must be available to work a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday.
