Responsibilities
- Oversee $50M+ infrastructure capital projects including roads, drainage, and public facilities
- Manage cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and regulatory compliance specialists
- Develop and implement departmental budgets aligned with federal/state funding requirements
- Coordinate with FEMA, FDOT, and other regulatory bodies for grant compliance
- Lead emergency response operations during hurricane season and natural disasters
- Conduct performance reviews and mentor junior department staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of public works experience with 3+ in leadership roles
- Valid Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proven expertise in FEMA grant management and federal procurement processes
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and FDOT standards
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation highly desirable
