Responsibilities
- Oversee municipal infrastructure projects including road maintenance, public facility upgrades, and utility expansions
- Coordinate with engineering, finance, and community engagement teams for project execution
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ADA regulations across all operations
- Manage vendor contracts and procurement processes for public works initiatives
- Develop progress reports for city council and stakeholder briefings
- Lead emergency response coordination during weather-related infrastructure crises
- Analyze budget allocations and optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal government or public works management
- Valid Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Proficiency with GIS mapping software and project management tools (MS Project, AutoCAD)
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant applications and compliance reporting
- Strong understanding of Tennessee state procurement laws and bidding processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
