Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public infrastructure projects including roads, sewers, and drainage systems
- Verify compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation using GIS mapping systems
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Enforce city codes, state regulations, and federal standards during construction phases
- Manage permit processes and maintain inspection records in digital databases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and clean driving record
- Certification as a Public Works Inspector (CPI) or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in CAD software and inspection management systems
- Strong knowledge of California Title 24 and local building codes
- Ability to read complex engineering blueprints and specifications
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders
