Responsibilities
- Inspect public infrastructure including roads, bridges, and utilities for safety and compliance
- Review construction plans and permit applications for regulatory adherence
- Document findings and generate detailed inspection reports
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve compliance issues
- Conduct field investigations for citizen-reported infrastructure concerns
- Ensure projects meet ADA and Michigan Department of Transportation standards
- Train junior inspectors on regulatory protocols
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 3+ years infrastructure inspection experience
- Michigan Public Works Inspector certification
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
- Proficiency with CAD and GIS mapping software
- Ability to work in outdoor environments year-round
