Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Verify compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve construction-related issues
- Maintain accurate project documentation and permit records
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in construction technology/engineering preferred
- 3+ years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Indiana Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction plans, and technical specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
