Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and specifications
- Review engineering plans and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project records
- Interact with contractors, engineers, and the public regarding compliance issues
- Coordinate with other city departments on infrastructure development initiatives
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects
- Assist in permit processing and code enforcement activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years construction inspection experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO/ICC certifications in building inspection preferred
- Knowledge of municipal engineering standards and construction practices
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills for public interaction
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
