Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and blueprints
- Document violations and issue corrective action notices to contractors
- Review engineering plans and permit applications for technical accuracy
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city departments during project phases
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements to development stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3+ years construction inspection experience
- Florida Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and field inspection software
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and OSHA standards
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
