Responsibilities
- Inspect public works construction projects for compliance with plans/specifications
- Verify materials meet quality standards and safety protocols
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve construction issues
- Enforce municipal codes, ordinances, and permit requirements
- Conduct field surveys and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED with 4 years construction inspection experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO certification in Building Inspection or equivalent
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Experience with public sector regulations preferred
