Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Verify construction compliance with city codes, permits, and specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects
- Ensure ADA compliance and accessibility standards in all constructions
- Participate in emergency response during weather-related incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License
- ICBO/ICC certifications (Certified Building Inspector preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Minnesota building codes and OSHA regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and physical environments
- Experience with municipal GIS systems and inspection software
