Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of public construction sites, roadways, and drainage systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
- Review construction plans and blueprints to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and communicate necessary corrections to contractors and project managers.
- Monitor project progress and safety protocols on-site to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate surveying equipment and GPS technology to measure and verify site dimensions.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and government officials to resolve technical issues and project delays.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and equipment used on assigned projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid Class C Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and local building codes.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs in various weather conditions.
