Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and specifications
- Document findings via digital reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Review development plans and permit applications for technical accuracy
- Maintain inspection records and generate compliance reports
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements to project stakeholders
- Participate in emergency response infrastructure assessments as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Engineering/Construction Technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or related field experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Proficiency in inspection software (e.g., Cityworks, GIS mapping)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable conditions
- Government sector experience highly desirable
