We're seeking a highly motivated Public Works Inspector to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This immediate hire position offers direct impact on community safety while working with our award-winning Public Works Department.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects for compliance with specifications and regulations
- Document findings and generate detailed inspection reports using digital tools
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Review construction plans and materials for adherence to safety standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works infrastructure
- Participate in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3+ years construction inspection experience
- Valid Louisiana Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency with digital inspection tools and reporting software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and building codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
