Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and engineering specifications
- Review and approve contractor submittals, plans, and permit applications
- Document inspection findings and maintain detailed project records
- Investigate public complaints regarding construction activities
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city departments to resolve issues
- Prepare written reports and recommendations for project approval
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in construction technology preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Inspector certification required
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency with inspection software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
